Pixel art

Your photo as 3D-printed pixel art

Your photo becomes a mosaic of square or round pixels in a few filament colours, like a sprite from an old video game. Print it on a multi-colour printer, or on any printer with a filament swap for every colour. Hang it on the wall or put magnets in the back.

    • Print it flat, picture up, with 0.2 mm layers. Nothing needs supports.
    • Multi-colour printer: the 3MF holds one part per filament. In Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer, check that every part has the right filament before you slice.
    • Filament swaps: every colour is one step higher than the one before, so each swap happens at one height. PrusaSlicer reads the swaps from the 3MF; in other slicers add a pause or colour change at the heights in the plan.
    • Magnets: press them in after printing with a drop of superglue, all with the same side out.
