How to 3D print a map of your own street

With Map to STL you choose a place, and the maker builds a 3D map from OpenStreetMap: buildings, streets, water and parks, ready to print in one colour or several.

Step by step

  1. Search for your street or town and drag the map until the right spot is inside the outline.
  2. Choose how much of it you want, from 150 metres to 4 km across. A small area shows single houses; a large one shows the shape of the whole town.
  3. Choose the shape (square, wide, round, hexagon or heart) and the width of the print.
  4. Choose what is on the map: buildings, main roads, streets, footpaths and cycle paths, railways, water, and parks and woods.
  5. Put a pin on your home, and click a building or a street to give it its own colour.
  6. Add a name, with the coordinates under it if you like.
  7. Choose how you print the colours, and download the 3MF or STL.
