Gridfinity Starter Set - a free 3D model from Shapekit

A drawer organizer you can keep adding to. The baseplate has 16 pockets on a 42 mm grid, and every bin has feet that drop into the pockets, so you can move the bins around and swap them for others. This set has one large 2 × 2 bin, two 2 × 1 bins (one with a divider), four 1 × 1 bins (one with a finger scoop for small screws) and a long 4 × 1 bin with a label shelf. Together they fill the plate, and bins of the same size stack. It follows the open Gridfinity system by Zack Freedman, so it works with thousands of other Gridfinity bins and plates. Nothing needs supports.

Parts (each STL is already placed the right way up for printing)
- gridfinity-starter-baseplate.stl: 172 × 172 mm, 4.65 mm thick: 16 pockets on a 42 mm grid inside a 2 mm frame. The pockets are open underneath, so the plate is light and lies flat in a drawer. Print: Flat on the bed, no supports. A smooth bed gives a clean bottom.
- gridfinity-starter-bin-2x2.stl: 83.5 × 83.5 mm and 42 mm tall (6 units), for tools, tape or chargers. Print: Standing on its feet, no supports.
- gridfinity-starter-bin-2x1.stl: 83.5 × 41.5 mm and 21 mm tall (3 units). Print: Standing on its feet, no supports.
- gridfinity-starter-bin-2x1-divider.stl: The same size, split in two by a wall across the middle. Print: Standing on its feet, no supports.
- gridfinity-starter-bin-1x1.stl (print 3): 41.5 × 41.5 mm and 21 mm tall (3 units), for small parts. Print: Standing on its feet, no supports.
- gridfinity-starter-bin-1x1-scoop.stl: A 1 × 1 bin with a rounded front inside, so you can slide screws and nuts out with a finger. Print: Standing on its feet, no supports.
- gridfinity-starter-bin-4x1.stl: 167.5 × 41.5 mm and 21 mm tall, for pens, bits or a screwdriver. A 10 mm shelf along the back takes a label. Print: Standing on its feet, no supports: the shelf has a 45° underside.

Also needed (not printed)
- Nothing else. The bins rest in the pockets by their own weight.
- Optional: a label strip for the shelf on the long bin, such as masking tape or a printed paper label.
- Gridfinity is an open system by Zack Freedman. Any other Gridfinity bin fits this plate, and these bins fit any Gridfinity plate, so you can add more as you need them.

Print settings: 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.20 mm layer height, 3 walls, 15% infill, PLA or PETG material.

Assembly
1. Print the parts: Nothing needs supports. Print the baseplate flat and the bins standing on their feet. Turn on elephant's foot compensation (about 0.15 mm) so the feet drop into the pockets easily.
2. Lay down the plate: Put the baseplate in a drawer or on your desk. For a bigger drawer, print more plates and lay them side by side: the grid carries on across them.
3. Place the bins: Drop each bin into the pockets. There is 0.25 mm of room on every side, so they sit without wobbling and lift out again with one finger.
4. Stack them: Bins of the same size stack: the feet of one drop into the lip on top of the other.
5. Label the long bin: Stick a label on the shelf along the back of the 4 × 1 bin.
